“How to make it possible?” - is a thriving question when it comes to the relationship of METRO and our SME partners. Together with experts from EU institutions and SME representatives, METRO wants to discuss how the digitalisation of SMEs can be supported. Therefore, we are hosting this panel discussion on Wednesday 16th of October in Brussels.

The digital transformation of the economy is underway, offering new market opportunities in Europe and all over the world. Within this context, micro as well as small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) are of strategic importance as they create two thirds of the jobs in the private sector and contribute to more than half of the total added value generated by businesses in the EU.

With this event, METRO wants to highlight the importance of digitalisation for micro, small and medium-sized companies in different sectors. Moreover, we would also like to use this opportunity to discuss the main elements of the SME policy action agenda for the next political cycle and how to enhance the regulatory and financial framework in the EU to guarantee a sustainable and lasting effect on small and medium sized companies.

In cooperation with EuroCommerce and PubAffairs, METRO is hosting a panel discussion with DG CNECT, the European Parliament, Hospitality Digital METRO, the Portugese Digital Economy Association, the Federation of Finnish Enterprises as well as the Polish Union of Entrepreneurs and Employers. The moderator will be Michael Acton from MLex Market Insights.
