METRO plans to significantly reduce its plastic footprint by 2025
Together with its national subsidiaries, the Düsseldorf-based wholesale and food specialist adopted a global voluntary self-commitment regarding the use of disposable plastics.

Last week the Circular Economy Package featured high on the agendas of the EU institutions. Whereas the Committee on the Environment passed a resolution demanding new targets to reduce food waste and increase waste recycling, the European Commission published a report on the progress of the circular economy action plan. In the European Parliament the committees elected their chairs and co-chairs and discussed the policy priorities of the Maltese presidency for the coming months.
