Responsible Lobbying: We need to take a stand!

Presentation at Quadriga Berlin Summit: Public Affairs Trend Lab, 16 February 2017

Participants from 18 nations all around Europe took part in the Quadriga Berlin Summit: Public Affairs Trend Lab 2017, hosted by Prof. Dr. Mario Voigt.

We need to take a stand

On 16 February, we presented our approach to lobbying in Brussels and Berlin, our beliefs and our instruments at the “Berlin Summit: Public Affairs Trend Lab” at Quadriga University in Berlin.

In traditional dialogue, within the framework of our Wednesday Socials in Berlin, Brussels and Vienna or in our digital presence on the web or via Twitter – our consistent approach, our commitment to transparency, clarity, and respect towards all interlocutors are crucial.

Our representation of interests does not wheel and deal in back rooms and is actively involved in the opinion-forming process in the societies in which we do business.

Advocacy needs positioning

What we need, more than ever in the current challenging world situation is to maintain a solid stance and position. We also do this publicly, for example Michael Wedell, who was asked by PR Report in February 2017 on our position towards the AfD.

Lobbyists can make a difference

We are convinced that the 25,000 stakeholders in Brussels and Berlin can and should play a proactive role in strengthening the democratic values of the EU.
The presentation therefore concluded quoting the call by the President of the German Bundestag Lammert at the Federal Assembly on 9 February to strengthen the EU in an insecure world.

This video won the 3rd prize at the "We are Europe. Every day" competition organised in 2014 by the European Commission in collaboration with the United Nations. The aim of the competition was to produce a short film emphasizing the meaning of the European Identity, showing how the European Union has improved its citizen's lives, or improves it every day. The producers were also asked to use extracts from the online Audiovisual Library of the European Commission or of the United Nations.
