Gerhard Soyka has been working as Public Affairs Manager Germany in the Berlin office of METRO AG. Prior to that, he has already worked as an external consultant with and for the Brussels team of METRO AG since May 2019. At METRO AG, Gerhard is mainly in charge of topics related to food, energy & climate as well as deforestation and animal welfare.

Before working in Brussels and Berlin, Gerhard worked as a lecturer and project manager at Leuphana University Lüneburg. He studied Administrative and Political Sciences at the Hochschule Harz University of Applied Sciences and Leuphana University. While studying, he conducted semesters abroad at St. Mary´s University and Dalhousie University in Halifax, Canada. Gerhard has been a member of the Young European Federalists (JEF) since 2011 and was Vice-President of JEF Germany from 2014 to 2018.
