In the 2021 election campaign, Olaf Scholz promised in the ARD election arena to maintain the corona-related VAT reduction on meals in the restaurant even after the end of 2022. But since his election as Federal Chancellor, the topic has become quiet. A long-term reduction in VAT at the start of the outdoor catering season would be a promising political decision for the future.
