After studying International Relations at the University of Maastricht, Netherlands and in Salamanca, Spain, Illa Brockmeyer completed a Masters Degree in European Politics at the London School of Economics and Political Science.

Before joining METRO, Illa Brockmeyer gained expertise at the Foreign Office in New York and the KfW Development Bank in Damascus, most recently she worked in the politics team of thyssenkrupp AG in Essen.
